LIBERATING ANGEL
FREED BY AN ANGEL
Continued ...
The officer examined the last photo and asked his minder if it's acceptable. (Everyone under Communism must have a minder; it's a regime of fear and constant intimidation.)
Levi was sent back to his room, the door closed. All of a sudden he hears a loud voice within his spirit, "Arise, take up your bags for your deliverance has arrived!" He sprung up to his feet, grabbed his bags and watched the door. The door opened and a smiling face of a perfect being came in. He said, "I have your passport and your ticket, follow me quickly" and then he ran out. Levi desperately tried to see his face, but all he could remember was that the man had no wrinkles on his face and his skin was perfectly smooth. But above all he was the only one smiling and his smile emanated joy and total confidence.
A departure of two planes was being just announced; one was going to Warsaw while the other to Frankfurt, West Germany, both planes were departing around the same time.
The rescuer and the rescued ran through all sorts of security checks, but instead of inspections they were only saluted to. Finally they had arrived at the gate. Above the door was written "Warsaw – Poland." Levi's heart almost stopped and he was about to faint, it was just too much. The natural mind was telling him that the Russians had made a mistake, or he just got confused, but the promise of the supernatural deliverance said something else. This is it! Go for it! The angel kept on moving. Levi ran after him.
They stooped at the next gate, above which was written 'Frankfurt – West Germany'. At the very last moment the promised messenger of deliverance pushed Levi through the door and seated him in the first class, but when Levi turned to thank him the angel was gone.
Exhausted by his ordeal he fell into deep sleep just to be awakened by a flight attendant in Frankfurt West Germany, the sleep seemed to last just a minute.
He checked into the nearest hotel. He stopped on the bridge and looked over the traffic below; took out his mini recorder and recorded these words: "I do not know if this is a dream or reality, but I am recording this so that when I awake from this ordeal I can play the tape and see if it is real. If I find nothing thenI will forget this nightmare. But if I find something on this tape then my life has been completely changed."
All that he went through he summarized in a few words; got a room and fell asleep.
After he awoke he did play the tape and this was not frozen Siberia, or the stinky Soviet prison cell, but a Sheraton hotel in the West. He took a whiff of fresh air and bellowed out, "I'm free!!!"
